In today’s digital world, cybercrime has become a powerful tool for criminals looking to steal data and extort money. The most dangerous of all the cyber attacks is phishing.

Phishing at a glance:

  • Phishing is a type of social engineering attack often used to steal user data, including logon credentials and credit card numbers.

  • In April this year, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) launched its Suspicious Email Reporting Service (SERS) into which the public can report any suspicious email.

  • In the 3 months since the launch, the NCSC has analysed over 1 million reports resulting in the removal of over 4,000 scams and 11,000 dangerous URLs.

  • Phishing attacks are up 200% this year.

  • A small business suffers a cyber attack every 19 seconds!
