A number of last season’s kits have been donated by Chelmsford City and Ascend, to KitAid.

KitAid is a national charity, in its 25th Anniversary Year, dedicated to finding a new home for unwanted kit & equipment in areas of the world where football is loved, but participation is hampered due to limited accessibility to football kits and equipment. KitAid works with projects supporting some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in the world – projects supporting education, skills training and those seeking to prevent harm, and has sent more than a million kits to over 55 countries.

Wear it Pink Day!

The 18th of October is Wear it Pink Day. This day was started by the Breast Cancer Now Charity to raise awareness for breast cancer. Everyone in the Ascend office came in wearing pink, and raised money by entering a prize draw that was ran by the staff. In total we raised £245 for Breast Cancer Now.

Everyone came together in the office to do their part, weather it was just wearing an item of pink, buying wigs and pink decorations, or even baking pink cakes, everyone played a part to make the day the great success that it was.

Raising awareness for breast cancer is of upmost importance. This is not only because it is once of the most common forms of cancer, but also because early detection of breast cancer can significantly improve survival rates.

Kids Inspire Quiz Night

We are delighted to announce that Kids Inspire (registered charity number 1129513) will once again be our Charity of the Year for 2023.

Ascend will be raising money in aid of Kids Inspire through various fundraising efforts, from taking part in physical challenges, adrenaline packed fundraisers, fundraising events and also attending events held by the charity themselves.

Kids Inspire, based locally to Ascend in Chelmsford, provide mental health and trauma recovery support for children, young people and their families through a range of therapeutic and community activities, promoting resilience, self-awareness, and relationship building to empower more positive life choices.

The founder of Kids Inspire, Sue Bell, identified the lack of support for children who are victims of distress, abuse and neglect as a key issue and proved that these children could have a positive intervention before they engaged in criminal or dangerous activities from the result of previous traumas.
