Storm Isha

Storm Isha – Advice to Clients to Protect their Businesses

As you may be aware, Storm Isha is approaching and is expected to affect many parts of the United Kingdom this weekend. To help you protect your property from potential storm damage, we have compiled the following 8 tips:

  1. Inspect fences and sheds to make sure there are no loose boards or panels that could be blown into yours or your neighbours’ properties.

  1. Check for loose or cracked roof tiles or slates that could be lifted by the wind and blown away.

  1. Check your gutters and downpipes to make sure they are attached to your property securely and clear drains of any debris.

  1. Store away tools, toys, bins and garden furniture securely.

  1. Secure outdoor structures like gazebos, pergolas and trampolines to prevent them from being lifted or damaged by strong winds. Ensure they are anchored to the ground properly.

  1. Clear and trim any overhanging branches in the garden.

  1. Make sure garage doors are properly reinforced as high winds can put pressure on them, bringing collapse or damage.

  1. Check seals around windows and doors for any gaps or damage. Sealing these areas properly can prevent water leaks and potential water damage during the storm.

Above all, stay informed about the storm's progress, prioritise safety and take proactive measures to minimise potential risks to your property and well-being.
