The environmental impact Covid-19 has on your fleet

Cities worldwide have seen significant decreases in emissions. Dolphins have returned to Southern Italy and in China many have seen blue skies for the first time in a long time. These of course are positive occurrences in what has been a rather bleak year.

This may however spark a political turn globally in pushing further to decrease emissions. One of the consequences could be efforts to limit vehicle use for those vehicles still reliant on non-renewable resources. Governments across Europe have been urging many to walk and cycle instead of driving.

In London, Sadiq Khan has introduced measures to increase the congestion charge from £11.50 to £15. This will mean that for those logistics and transport firms trading in London there will be a large increase in costs for the business. There may also be restrictions of vehicles all together in some parts of the capital.

The current fall in CO2 emissions and a push for greener politics across Europe has made many look into long term strategies for their transportation business. For many, the time may come to look for vehicles that run on renewable energy in the near future.
