Essex off to a winning start in the Bob Willis Trophy

Essex are off to a winning start in the Bob Willis trophy with a win over rivals Kent at Chelmsford.

The match was a tightly fought one with the result being very close in the end. Essex eventually won by 2 wickets.

Essex's standout performers were Ryan Ten Doeschate who hit 78 in the first innings and Sir Alastair Cook with 66 in the second innings. With the ball, Jamie Porter took four wickets in Kent's first innings while Simon Harmer took four in Kent's second innings.
